Pickleball lessons for complete beginners
Coach Tim starts you from zero — rules, grip, serve, and your first real game. Florida's fastest-growing sport is easier to learn than you think with the right instruction, and Tim comes to your court.

What you'll learn in your first sessions
A clear path from never-held-a-paddle to playing your first real games.
The rules & scoring
Pickleball has its own scoring system and unique rules — the kitchen, the double-bounce rule, serving rules. Coach Tim makes these clear and memorable in the first session.
Grip & paddle basics
The right grip prevents bad habits that are hard to unlearn later. Tim starts here — it takes ten minutes and makes everything else easier.
The serve & return
Every point starts with a serve. Tim teaches you a reliable, legal serve from day one so you can actually play games during practice.
Dinking & the kitchen
The non-volley zone (the kitchen) is what makes pickleball unique. Tim teaches you how to use it offensively and defensively — where most beginners get stuck.
Court movement
Where to stand, when to move, and how to cover the court with a partner. Tim's tennis background makes him exceptional at teaching positioning.
Playing real games
By the end of your first few sessions you'll have everything you need to join a recreational game, a clinic, or open play at a local court.

Beginner questions
New to pickleball?
I've never played — where do I start?
Start with a beginner clinic ($20/person) or a private lesson ($80/hr). Coach Tim starts you from zero: rules, scoring, grip, serve, and your first real game.
Do I need my own paddle?
It helps to have one, but Coach Tim can lend you a paddle for your first session. He'll also advise you on choosing the right paddle for your style and budget.
How long until I can play recreational games?
Most complete beginners can join a recreational game after two or three sessions with Tim. He prioritizes getting you game-ready, not just drill-ready.
How is pickleball different from tennis?
Smaller court, an underhand serve, the non-volley zone (the kitchen), and a wiffle-style ball. Many tennis concepts transfer — but pickleball has its own strategy, and Tim teaches both.
What should I bring?
Court or athletic shoes, water, and comfortable clothes. Tim brings the balls and can lend a paddle. Just come ready to move a little.
