For Players 55+
Senior tennis and pickleball coaching, built for the long game
Tennis and pickleball at 55+ aren't about slowing down — they're about playing smarter. The right technique adjustments now mean decades more good play ahead. Coach Tim Brielmaier specializes in coaching adult and senior players who want to keep playing well, not just play.
Built around four principles
What senior coaching looks like
Four principles every senior lesson is built around.
Injury-preventive technique
Specific stroke adjustments that reduce shoulder, elbow, and knee load — the difference between playing into your 80s and being sidelined by 65. Light grip, smart contact point, controlled body rotation.
Joint-friendly footwork
Smaller, more efficient movement patterns. Less lateral lunging, more recovery to the center. The senior players who keep playing are the ones who learn to move smart instead of harder.
Equipment that fits the body
Lighter racquets, larger heads, looser string tension. Most senior players are carrying too much racquet weight for their swing speed. Equipment changes alone often resolve nagging elbow and shoulder pain.
Play-style for the long game
Playing closer to the baseline, developing a slice backhand, shifting from singles to doubles when it makes sense. The right tactical adjustments at 60 mean decades more good tennis ahead.

Common questions
I haven't played in years — can I still take lessons?
Absolutely. Coach Tim specializes in getting players back on the court after long breaks. He'll assess where you are now and build a progression that respects your current fitness and mobility.
Is pickleball easier on the body than tennis for seniors?
Pickleball is generally lower-impact — smaller court, lighter paddle, slower ball speed at recreational levels. Tim coaches both and can help you find the right sport, or combination, for your body.
What if I have a shoulder or knee issue?
Tell Tim upfront. He's coached players through all kinds of physical limitations and adapts technique and session intensity accordingly. He's not a physical therapist, but he knows how to coach around common issues.
Do you offer group sessions for senior players?
Yes — Tim's clinics work especially well for senior social groups. Groups of 5–8 at $20/person for a 90-minute session: a great way to improve and socialize at the same time.
